How to check your hearing for brainstem screening

Brain stem screening audiometry is a brain stem evoked electrocardiography that stimulates the body’s response through sound waves and determines the condition through reflected waves. Brainstem audiometry is a relatively accurate and objective hearing test. The test is performed while the patient is asleep or in an anesthetized coma to ensure that the patient is not influenced by subjective consciousness. During the examination, the recording electrode is placed on the top of the patient’s skull or mastoid, the reference electrode is placed on the patient’s contralateral earlobe or mastoid, the forehead electrode is grounded, and the preamplifier is placed in a position near the patient. Afterwards, various stimulation sound signals are given and the patient’s response is recorded, and the patient’s condition is determined by various reflection waves. The results of this test are still relatively accurate.
