Patients with tetanus can be seen in general surgery or emergency surgery, because infection with tetanus is usually a superficial tissue injury, once the injury patients need to be timely tetanus antitoxin or tetanus immunoglobulin injection to prevent tetanus infection. If the patient does not pay attention to strengthen the wound cleaning and disinfection, even if the tetanus vaccine is injected, there is still the possibility of infection. Therefore, patients must pay enough attention to the wound, strengthen local debridement and disinfection, so that the wound becomes an aerobic environment, because the growth of Clostridium tetani requires an anaerobic environment, if the wound is repeatedly cleaned with vitalized iodine, hydrogen peroxide, and saline after the injury, so that the wound is transformed from an anaerobic environment to an aerobic environment, and some patients, even if they do not have an injection of tetanus antitoxin or tetanus immune globulin, may not develop tetanus infections. Tetanus infection may not occur in some patients even without tetanus antitoxin or tetanus immunoglobulin injection.
