How epilepsy is caused

There are many causes of epilepsy, such as organic brain lesions, degenerative brain lesions, etc. The former are such as trauma, brain tumors, hemorrhage, etc., and the latter can be seen in Alzheimer’s disease and Parkinson’s disease. 1. Organic lesions: mainly include trauma, tumor, cerebrovascular disease, etc., such as the most common concussion, subdural hematoma, cerebral contusion, cerebral hemorrhage, cerebral infarction, meningioma, glioma and so on. All of these may interfere with the normal discharge process in the patient’s brain and eventually cause epilepsy. 2. Degenerative brain lesions: mainly including bean nucleus degeneration, hippocampal caudate nucleus degeneration, amyloidosis, Parkinson’s disease, Alzheimer’s disease and so on. These cases may not be able to detect obvious organic lesions, but the whole function of the brain will be seriously affected, ultimately resulting in epileptic seizures. It is recommended to go to the hospital in time for CT, MRI, angiography and other related examinations to jointly clarify the condition and find the more fundamental causes as soon as possible.
