What is a lumbar disc herniation?

Lumbar disc herniation is a kind of human body’s own compensatory disease caused by soft tissue injury in the lumbar region. The root cause of lumbar vertebral subluxation and disc protrusion is soft tissue injury, so the treatment only focuses on the intervertebral disc itself, such as surgical removal of the intervertebral disc, medication for disc melting, disc cutting and suction and other therapeutic methods, all of which are symptomatic treatments. After open surgery for lumbar disc herniation, firstly, the adhesion and scar of the surgical incision compresses the dural sac, nerve root and the surrounding tissues, which triggers the clinical manifestation of nerve root compression; secondly, after the removal of the intervertebral disc, the balance of the spinal force is destroyed and the lumbar spine is unstable, the human body, in order to maintain the normal function of the lumbar region, compensates for the strengthening of the lumbar soft tissues, which causes the contracture of the soft tissues and the scar, which triggers the clinical manifestation of the disc. The lumbar spine is not stable. Therefore, the various tissues of the human body complement each other, each muscle, each bone has its own role, each plays its own role, and forms a set of systematic mechanical structure among each other. The treatment of lumbar spine disease with needle and knife is to loosen the adhesion, scarring and contracture at the key points in the pathological structure of lumbar disc herniation, so that the lumbar tissues can restore the original healthy mechanical relationship, thus achieving the purpose of treatment. With the lumbar “back” shaped needle knife holistic laxation, the key lesion points of the lumbar soft tissues are treated holistically, supplemented by manipulation to further loosen the soft tissues at the key lesion points. Both adhesions and scarring of the nerve roots in the spinal canal are loosened, as well as the soft tissues that cause force balance imbalances in the lumbar region at the same time. After the needle knife treatment, patients need a period of recovery. This is because patients with herniated discs suffer from extensive strain on the soft tissues of the lumbar region, causing a force balance disorder in the lumbar region, resulting in a herniated lumbar disc that is not caused in a day or two, but rather is an inevitable result of the body’s long-term self-compensation process. Meanwhile, it takes time for the human body to establish a new force balance system after the needle knife holistic release surgery, and according to our years of clinical experience, this period of self-repair of the human body is about 3 months to half a year. During this period of time, patients may experience certain clinical manifestations of lumbar disc herniation, but the time is transient, and the degree is mild and short. Postoperative supplementation with traction, herbal medicine, and rehabilitation exercises help the body to self-regulate, accelerate the elimination of inflammatory products, and promote wound healing. In the face of lumbar disc herniation, what we should consider is not how to solve the herniated disc, but to consider the root cause: why the disc is herniated? Therefore, a holistic dissolution of the pathological framework of the lumbar region is the basis of treatment.
