Curing neck and back pain in lactating women

In the orthopedic clinic, we often hear women who are breastfeeding complaining that since they breastfeed their children, they always feel neck and back pain, and sometimes dizziness, dizziness, tinnitus, nausea, etc. After examination by orthopedic surgeons, these patients are diagnosed as “lactation neck, back and back pain”. The following are the main causes of lactation neck, back and back pain: 1. bad breastfeeding posture. For example, when breastfeeding, you like to keep your head down for a long time to watch your baby breastfeed; or at night, you always sleep on your side in one direction for the convenience of breastfeeding. This will easily make the muscles of the neck and back tense and fatigue, thus causing neck and back pain. 2. Influenced by your own disease. Some mothers are afraid that their babies will not be able to contain their nipples because of their sunken nipples, so they have to keep their heads down from the beginning to the end of each feeding. Some mothers have cervical spondylosis and breastfeeding can be a cause of neck and back pain. 3. Female physiological and occupational factors. Women’s neck and back muscles and ligaments are weaker than men’s, especially women who have been engaged in sewing, accounting, editing, typing, drafting and other desk jobs for a long time. In order to prevent the occurrence of lactational neck and back pain, young lactating mothers should promptly treat nipple indentation and cervical spondylosis and eliminate the causative factors. After childbirth, physical activities should be carried out appropriately, especially doing more chest expansion and waist lifting, throwing back the hands with force and lifting up as much as possible to increase the strength of the neck, back and lumbar muscles and ligaments, and eating more fresh vegetables and fruits rich in B vitamins. Patients should not habitually sleep or breastfeed on one side; each time they breastfeed, they can intermittently do some movements such as lifting the head and tilting back, turning the neck from side to side. If you have neck and back pain after breastfeeding, you can usually massage the neck and shoulder muscles on both sides, which can often effectively relieve the pain.
