How to treat solid nodules in the breast

The nature of solid breast nodules should be considered clinically. Hyperplastic nodules, breast fibroids, and breast cancer are common, while inflammatory masses are not common in clinical practice. The three common nodules are treated differently, as follows: 1. Hyperplastic nodules: they can be closely observed clinically, and generally patients should be reviewed regularly. Surgical intervention is only considered if the mass grows faster and malignancy is suspected. The possibility of cancer in hyperplastic nodules is relatively small. According to the statistics of American journals, the rate of cancer in breast hyperplastic nodules is only about 1%, which is a very small percentage; 2. Breast fibroids: We must pay attention to and observe them. Generally, if the tumor is larger than 0.5cm, under observation, if the tumor grows rapidly and the classification under breast ultrasound reaches grade 3, consider surgical intervention. Nowadays, for surgical intervention of breast fibroids, minimally invasive methods are considered for treatment. Minimally invasive rotational excision has been widely carried out in China, and it has been carried out in general municipal hospitals, and local excision of the lump is considered. Benign tumors can be surgically removed, but if they are malignant, further radical surgery may be required; 3. Breast cancer: clinically, breast cancer treatment is more effective, and the ten-year survival rate of patients is greater than that of liver cancer and lung cancer. Breast cancer treatment is mainly based on surgery, and breast conservation can be considered depending on the stage of the cancer. For example, for early stage breast cancer, breast-conserving surgery can be considered; if it reaches the middle or late stage, modified radical surgery can be considered. But the more important treatment for breast cancer is to supplement chemotherapy and endocrine therapy after surgery according to the patient’s condition. If the patient’s examination is positive for ER and PR, it may be necessary to supplement endocrine therapy.
