Multifocal lacunar cerebral infarction, i.e. multiple lacunar cerebral infarction, is a special type of cerebral infarction. Multifocal lacunar cerebral infarction is mostly seen in middle-aged and old-aged patients, and often occurs in the basal ganglia region, which has multiple sites and small lesion areas. It is caused by the lesion of blood vessel wall on the basis of risk factors such as hypertension, diabetes mellitus, atherosclerosis, etc., which causes the occlusion of tiny arteries in the deep part of the brain, resulting in ischemic necrosis of brain tissues. Multiple lacunar cerebral infarction belongs to the milder symptoms of cerebral infarction, usually with milder clinical manifestations, single sign, better prognosis, and usually without headache, cranial hypertension, and impaired consciousness. Neuroimaging is the main basis for diagnosis, and multiple low density foci can be seen on CT. Occlusion of these small arteries can cause multiple soft foci of different kinds of brain, and finally form large and small cavities. Multiple lacunar cerebral infarction in the acute stage can choose rt-PA for thrombolytic therapy, if it is in the recovery period of cerebral infarction, the patient should be long-term oral aspirin or clopidogrel to anti-platelet aggregation, to prevent the reoccurrence of lacunar infarction, lacunar cerebral infarction prognosis is better, but easy to recurring episodes. Therefore, prevention is a very important part of treatment. If you suspect multiple lacunar infarcts, you should go to the hospital immediately and follow the doctor’s instructions for treatment.
