How to push correctly during labor

Pushing during labor should be rhythmic, similar to the feeling of defecation. After the mouth of the uterus opens, start to inhale deeply and hold your breath to push when the contraction pains come, and do not push when the contraction pains are temporarily relieved. During labor, keep your legs naturally spread out, jaw tight, back and waist close to the bed, and push in a similar way as you would when having a bowel movement. When the mouth of the uterus is fully open, you should be ready to push. Follow your doctor’s instructions and push. You do not need to push when the labor pains go away. Push at the peak of the labor pains, inhale deeply when the labor pains arrive, and then hold your breath to push the baby down. Generally a paroxysm will last 50-60 seconds, aim to hold your breath and push twice per paroxysm. Pregnant women in labor should eat more food rich in protein, such as eggs, lean pork, soy products, milk and so on.
