What’s the difference between regular hiccups and stomach cancer hiccups?

Ordinary hiccups are usually transient, and some stomach cancer patients will have persistent hiccups. The occurrence of hiccups in healthy people is mostly related to diet, especially eating and drinking too fast and too full, consuming very hot or cold food and drinks, drinking alcohol and so on. Some stomach cancer patients are likely to have hiccups continuously for more than 48 hours due to poor digestion and tumor invasion of nerves. It should be noted that stomach cancer patients may not always show continuous hiccups. Patients may also have epigastric discomfort, nausea and vomiting, acid reflux, loss of appetite, vomiting blood and black stool, difficulty in swallowing and other symptoms. In short, once discomfort or similar symptoms occur, patients should go to the hospital for standardized diagnosis and treatment in time to avoid delaying the condition.
