Lumbar disc herniation is based on the degeneration of lumbar intervertebral disc, due to the rupture of the annulus fibrosus, the nucleus pulposus protrudes and compresses the nerve root, causing lumbar and leg pain and nerve dysfunction, and in serious cases, it leads to damage of the cauda equina nerve, which causes sensory disorders of the perineal area and abnormal urinary and fecal functions, and even paraplegia.
