What are the symptoms of a blocked bile duct

Blocked bile ducts may present with abdominal pain, jaundice, chills and high fever. It is often accompanied by nausea, vomiting, deepening of urine color, itching of the skin and other discomforts.
1. Abdominal pain: after bile duct obstruction, patients will experience swelling and pain in the right upper abdomen, accompanied by loss of appetite, nausea, anorexia, anorexia of grease and other indigestion.
2. Jaundice: Bile produced by the liver is rich in bilirubin, which is an important substance involved in fat digestion. When the bile ducts are obstructed due to stones or tumors, the bilirubin in the bile ducts will return to the blood, and the skin and sclera will appear yellow, which is called jaundice.
3. Chills and high fever: when the bile duct obstruction is secondary to infection, the inflammation and edema of the bile duct wall can aggravate the bile duct obstruction and cause the pressure in the bile duct to increase, and the bacteria and toxins will retrograde into the liver sinusoids, and then retrograde into the hepatic vein and enter into the circulation and cause systemic infection, and then the patient will have chills and high fever.
If the patient has a bile duct obstruction, should go to the regular hospital hepatobiliary surgery for examination, active treatment to avoid delaying the condition.
