After treatment, patients with genital herpes are clinically cured when the systemic symptoms disappear and the lesions subside. However, the disease is prone to recurrence, clinical cure does not guarantee no recurrence. The incubation period of primary genital herpes is usually 4~10 days, the early manifestation of multiple erythema, the gradual development of red papules, blisters, pustules and ulcers, pain, itching, burning sensation at the damage. It can usually be treated with antiviral drugs such as acyclovir to reduce the severity and duration of herpes, accelerate healing, and eventually symptoms disappear and lesions subside. Recurrent genital herpes is similar to primary but with milder symptoms, a small rash with a short duration, and a tingling or burning sensation 1 to 2 days before recurrence, which usually resolves spontaneously in a few days. The healing cycle of genital herpes is related to the patient’s condition and immunity, and it is recommended that patients go to regular hospitals when they are not feeling well, and get treated as early as possible under the guidance of a doctor.
