What’s with the glass nodules on the lungs?

It is incorrect to say that there are glass nodules on the lungs, which are generally referred to as ground glass nodules in medicine. Ground glass nodules on the lungs are alveolar solid changes leading to a slightly dense shadow in the lungs, and do not cover the blood vessel shadow in the lungs, considering lung hemorrhage, peripheral lung cancer, pulmonary fibrosis and so on. 1. Pulmonary hemorrhage: it is an acute respiratory disease with respiratory tract or alveolar hemorrhage, often manifested by hemoptysis, dyspnea, etc. Ct often manifests as ground-glass shadow, which disappears when the hematoma is aspirated. 2. peripheral lung cancer: it is the most common malignant tumor in the lung, manifested by hemoptysis, chest pain, irritating cough, etc. ct manifests as rounded or irregular grinding glass nodular shadow with rough edges. When the diameter of the nodule is bigger, the possibility of malignancy is bigger. 3. Pulmonary fibrosis: non-infectious inflammatory reaction caused by alveolar wall damage, clinical manifestation is progressive dyspnea. Early CT of the lesion shows grinding glass-like density shadow and solid shadow in the lower lung. Ground-glass nodules can be caused by a variety of diseases, and should be examined in the hospital to determine the cause of treatment.
