When a baby’s eyes are pierced by a flashing light, it may have some effect on the retina. The baby’s eye is in the development stage, the retina is not mature, easy to cause some damage. If prolonged bright light stimulation or flash exposure, it may cause different degrees of retinal damage, serious impact on the child’s vision, which should be given high priority. Photographic use of the flash, occasionally once or twice blinding, does not cause much effect on the eyes, and will not cause retinal and macular damage, but should be avoided for long periods of time, including long periods of direct sunlight on the eyes. If a baby’s eyes are stung by a flash or if long-term vision loss occurs after a glare, it is recommended that the child be seen promptly for evaluation of the condition and treatment as prescribed by the doctor.
