I. What is coronary stenosis? Coronary stenosis, i.e. coronary artery stenosis, generally refers to the phenomenon of atherosclerotic lesions in the coronary vessels, which cause narrowing or obstruction of the lumen. According to the degree of stenosis, it can be divided into 4 grades: Grade I lesion: the lumen area is reduced by 1%-25%; Grade II lesion: the lumen area is reduced by 26%-50%; Grade III lesion: the lumen area is reduced by 51%-75%; Grade IV lesion: the lumen area is reduced by 76%-100%. Second, what are the consequences of coronary stenosis? According to the classification of stenosis, one or more major coronary arteries (left coronary artery trunk, anterior descending branch, gyrus branch and right coronary artery) with stenosis of grade III is diagnosed as coronary artery disease, which will be clinically manifested as five types: asymptomatic myocardial ischemia (occult coronary artery disease), angina pectoris, myocardial infarction, ischemic heart failure (ischemic heart disease) and sudden death. It can be said that coronary artery stenosis caused by coronary artery stenosis has become the first killer of human health at present. Third, what are the causes of coronary artery stenosis? The main causes of coronary artery blockage are: high blood pressure, dyslipidemia (high total cholesterol or high LDL cholesterol, high triglycerides, low HDL cholesterol), overweight/obesity, high blood sugar/diabetes; poor lifestyle including smoking, unreasonable diet (high fat, high cholesterol, high calories, etc.), lack of physical activity, excessive alcohol consumption, and psychosocial factors, etc. . These factors may damage the endothelial arterial endothelium of the arterial wall, followed by the formation of fatty plaques, and as the fatty plaques become larger and larger, the blood vessels gradually become narrower. What are the solutions for coronary artery stenosis? At present, the modern medical solution for coronary artery stenosis is mainly interventional therapy when the stenosis is serious, that is, by placing a coronary stent, it is thought that the coronary channel is widened to achieve the purpose of lifting the stenosis; internal medication is usually accompanied by the use of cardiac drugs to enhance the heart function. Although the stent can solve the temporary problem, the placement of stent still brings a series of problems, such as more stringent requirements for blood vessel unblocking after stent placement and the need for long-term anticoagulation, antihypertensive and lipid-lowering treatment, which increases the economic burden of patients. There is also the possibility of bleeding, liver damage, neurological damage, etc. And the blockage of tiny blood vessels cannot be stented. From the perspective of TCM, such conditions should focus on pre-prevention, pre-modification of behavior, stabilization of blood pressure, lipid lowering, and stress relief. There are two main advocates, one believes that only blood circulation and blood stasis should be activated. In contrast, Master Zeng believes that in addition to activating blood circulation and removing blood stasis, it is also necessary to support and dispel evil to replenish heart energy and enhance heart function in order to fundamentally solve the problem. In 2013, the examination found some blockage in the coronary arteries, but did not pay attention to it and only carried out simple treatment. 2015, a major attack, hospitalized in a hospital for resuscitation, dual source CT examination found that all three coronary arteries had stenosis, and the most serious part The stenosis had reached 80% (as shown in Figure 1). After the disease was slightly stabilized, the doctor recommended stenting, but the patient himself and his family had many concerns about stenting and asked for conservative treatment by a Chinese medicine practitioner first, so he consulted Master Zeng. Master Zeng prescribed the right medicine, in addition to the general water medicine to invigorate blood stasis, dispel phlegm and clear the ligaments, plus the support medicine to benefit the heart, both complement and diarrhea; also specially equipped with powdered medicine, containing a variety of worm medicine, such as dung beetles, etc., to strengthen the blood circulation function, in order to unblock the meridians. After one year of intermittent administration, the effect was remarkable. The double-source CT retest showed that only one of the three coronary arteries had 30% stenosis (Figure 2), and the patient basically had no more attacks, so it can be said that the patient recovered his health and gained a new life. Figure 1 Dual-source CT examination in 2015 Figure 2 Dual-source CT examination in 2017 This case tells us that, on the one hand, for coronary stenosis, while focusing on pre-prevention and lifestyle adjustment, it is necessary to both support the positive and dispel the evil, to balance the positive and the evil, and to seize the key points and grasp the core disease mechanism according to the changes of the disease. On the other hand, for other difficult diseases, in China, besides modern medicine, there are also Chinese medicines and tonics that can be tried. We should further strengthen our confidence in Chinese medicine, give full play to the advantages of local Chinese medicine, and strive to promote Chinese medicine to challenge human diseases and continuously overcome difficulties.
