Liver abscess in CT scanning manifests as low density area, visible gas shadow or liquid flat; enhanced CT mostly manifests as obvious strengthening of abscess wall, called ring sign. 1. CT scan: most of the abscesses are single or multiple low-density areas, mostly round or round-like, and gas or liquid level can be seen in some of the lesions. 2. CT enhancement: most of the abscess wall is obviously strengthened, while the contents of the abscess cavity and the surrounding edema zone are not strengthened. The ring-shaped enhancement of the abscess wall is called the ring sign, and the typical ring sign can be manifested as a low-high-low-density enhancement ring of granulation tissue, fibrous tissue, and edematous hepatic tissue in the wall of the abscess from the inside to the outside. If the abscess has multiple cavities, the cavities are separated and strengthened. Liver abscess is mostly caused by Klebsiella pneumoniae and other pathogenic infections, manifested by chills and high fever, pain in the liver area, etc., requiring antibiotics such as ceftriaxone or surgical treatment. It is recommended that the patient consult a doctor in a timely manner, follow the doctor’s instructions for treatment, and medication should be used under the guidance of a physician.
