How long does it take for a baby’s throat to heal from pus

Pus in the pharynx of children is usually seen in acute pharyngitis or acute tonsillitis, both of which last about 7-10 days. Most of the pathogens of pharyngitis and tonsillitis are Streptococcus haemolyticus, and their clinical manifestations are different. Patients with acute pharyngitis may find scattered white pus spots on the tongue and palate arch and the back wall of the pharynx, and they may have symptoms such as dry throat, sore throat, foreign body sensation in the throat, fever, muscle aches, and fatigue. In contrast, tonsillitis is dominated by the tonsils, and a large amount of purulent secretions or pseudomembranes can be seen attached to the surface of the tonsils. The medication used in the treatment is the same and requires infusion therapy, which can be entered as ceftriaxone sodium, cefotaxime sodium, cefazolin sodium. It also needs to be treated with nebulized inhalation, for example, budesonide nebulization can reduce congestion as well as edema in the throat and relieve pain. If it is a viral infection, the patient also needs to be treated with oseltamivir pellets, which can be cured within a week. During the treatment period, the patient needs to drink more water, not to eat spicy and stimulating food, and pay more attention to rest.
