What is the dosage of Atractylodis Macrocephalae

Atractylodes macrocephala is taken by decoction, before meals, if there is vomiting and diarrhea, add white plum decoction; if there is wheezing, add Sang Bai Pi and so on, need to follow the doctor’s instructions for medication. Atractylodis Macrocephalae is a formula of traditional Chinese medicine, which is mainly composed of Platycodonopsis, Poria, Chinese yam, Angelica dahurica, licorice, Pericarpium Citri Reticulatae, Atractylodis Macrocephalae, Gan Ginger, and Aromatic Parsley. It is used for treating typhoid fever (a disease in which fever is caused by feeling cold), fear of cold and high fever, nasal congestion, nasal and salivary mucus, coughing, phlegm and saliva congestion (abnormal phlegm and excessive production of saliva); or fear of cold and high fever, bone and joint pains, or heatstroke, vertigo, vomiting and other illnesses. Literature records that Bai Zhu San is decocted with jujube, perilla, ginger, and dried papaya, and the decoction is taken internally, before meals. If there is vomiting and diarrhea, add Bai Mei to the decoction; if there is wheezing, add Sang Bai Pi and almonds; if there is heat stroke and vomiting add Elsholtzia to the decoction. The adverse reactions and contraindications of this formula are not clear, and it should be used under the guidance of doctor’s diagnosis.
