It belongs to the genus Corynebacterium and is Gram-stain positive. The bacteria grow in the intracellular and intercellular areas of the hair epidermis and can invade the hair cortex but not the hair root or skin. There is odor mainly axillary odor, armpit hair ringworm often combined with axillary odor, the main reason is due to excessive secretion of sweat glands, under the decomposition of bacteria to produce some odor, which leads to the common clinical axillary odor.
