In case of vertebral subluxation, most of the vertebral body slippage or instability of the spine occurs, and most of the symptoms of nerve compression are present, such as chronic pain in the spine, positive local pressure pain, positive percussion pain, significant radiating tingling in the lower extremities, decreased skin sensation and muscle strength in the lower extremities. Patients may also have difficulty walking, have abnormal bowel movements, or develop pathological reflexes in the lower extremities, such as hyperactive or absent knee reflexes and Achilles tendon reflexes. A definitive diagnosis can be made by taking an X-ray of the spine or by performing an electromyography.
