Cornhusk is corn husk, with diuretic and decongestive effects, lowering blood pressure, used for edema, urinary dribbling (the feeling of not being able to urinate), jaundice, cholecystitis and lactation and other conditions.
1. Jaundice: Cornhusk enters the liver meridian, has the efficacy of clearing the liver and inducing diuresis, retiring yellowness and discharging stones, and can be used for jaundice hepatitis, cholelithiasis and so on. It can be used alone in large doses, or used with moneywort, cumin, yujin and so on.
2. Edema, gonorrhea (increased urination, dribbling and astringent pain): cornhusk is bland in taste and flat in nature, and enters the liver and kidney meridians, with the effect of diuretic swelling, can be used for nephritis edema, cirrhosis of the liver, as ascites, with dongguanpi, azuki beans, etc.; and with psyllium, lianxianca, etc., can be used for feverish gonorrhea (burning hot tingling pain in the urine, accompanied by urinary frequency, urgency, abdominal traction and discomfort), dysuria and so on.
When patients take corn husk to cure diseases and regulate the body, it is recommended to do so under the identification of a Chinese medicine practitioner, and not to abuse the drug on their own.
