What is the general process of orthodontics?

Orthodontics is a complex, cyclical treatment process, and the treatment procedures are briefly described here. 1.Initial examination: The initial examination of the oral cavity will briefly introduce the treatment time, process and cost, but will not talk about the specific treatment plan. The examination requires taking x-rays, taking photos of the facial dentition, and taking models for the doctor to analyze, diagnose, and design the malocclusion, as well as set aside for later comparison with the end of treatment. 2. Making a plan: Making an orthodontic plan: The doctor measures, calculates and diagnoses the type of malocclusion of the patient based on the model, photos and x-rays, and makes a detailed treatment plan suitable for the patient. The doctor then explains the treatment plan to the patient and the patient’s family and asks for the patient’s and family’s opinion. After the treatment plan is determined, the patient or the patient’s family signs the consent form. 3, initial braces: Start the first time in the oral cavity adhesive braces, that is, initial braces. It is more time-consuming than subsequent follow-up visits, which take 1-2 hours. Between the development of the plan and the first wear orthodontic appliances sometimes need to be prepared before orthodontics: for example, some patients may need to extract teeth, patients with periodontal disease need to be treated, and sometimes need to divide teeth, take working models, etc. 4, review: generally speaking, you need to review once a month to adjust the aligners, usually no more than half an hour each time, the whole process of 1-2 years or so. 5, removal of aligners: after 1-2 years, the end of treatment to remove the aligners, wear retainers, complete the active orthodontic process and begin the retention phase.
