A slightly backward curved fetal spine is usually not a problem. Fetal spine starts to ossify after 8 weeks of gestation, and after 12 weeks of gestation, the fetal spine is very clear on ultrasound, with the vertebral canal in the middle, a triangular-shaped strong echogenic structure in the transverse section, and two parallel, well-arranged, bead-shaped strong echogenic structures in the longitudinal section, and two bands merging at the tail end, presenting a natural physiological curvature. Spina bifida occurs when the two vertebrae do not fuse properly, and spina bifida occurs when the two vertebrae are missing, which can lead to spinal bulging, as well as neurologic symptoms, and spina bifida occurs when the spinal cord is missing from the neural tube. Larger defects can be detected on ultrasound, and the best time to screen for spina bifida is between 18 and 20 weeks of pregnancy. Recommendation: Monitor the development of the fetus regularly during pregnancy and treat any abnormalities promptly.
