If the jaw can’t close, i.e. the jaw can’t bite, it may be caused by temporomandibular joint dislocation, temporomandibular arthritis, malocclusion, etc. If it is temporomandibular joint dislocation, it will be reset manually, if it is temporomandibular arthritis, it can be closed, and if it is malocclusion, it can be treated with orthodontic treatment.
1.Temporomandibular joint dislocation: usually choose the intraoral method of reset, after reset, need to fix the jaw for 2~3 weeks, in order to promote the repair of joint ligament, joint disk, joint capsule.
2. Temporomandibular arthritis: Prednisolone suspension 0.5ml is added with 2% lidocaine 0.5~1ml and injected into the upper cavity of the joint for joint closure treatment. Drugs need to be used under the guidance of a doctor.
3. Malocclusion: open jaw can be caused by malocclusion of teeth. Through orthodontic treatment, the teeth can be aligned and leveled to establish normal and stable occlusal relationship, which can improve the symptoms of open jaw.
