CR prosthesis and PS prosthesis refer to CR prosthesis and PS prosthesis, both of them are knee prosthesis, but there are differences between them in the treatment of posterior cruciate ligament, surgical difficulty and postoperative recovery effect.
1. Different treatment of the posterior cruciate ligament: CR prosthesis is a posterior cruciate ligament preserving knee prosthesis, which preserves the receptors and conduction function of the posterior cruciate ligament, and reduces the risk of poor transmission of the prosthesis fixation; PS prosthesis is a posterior cruciate ligament replacing knee prosthesis, which replaces the patient’s original posterior cruciate ligament with prosthesis, and is prone to cause sensory loss of the joint body.
2. Different surgical difficulty: CR prosthesis surgery retains the posterior cruciate ligament, the surgical field is limited, and the surgical difficulty is relatively high; PS prosthesis surgery removes the posterior cruciate ligament, the surgical field is relatively clear, and the surgical difficulty is relatively low.
3. Postoperative recovery effect is different: the retention of posterior cruciate ligament in CR prosthesis surgery reduces the distance of autogenous bone osteotomy, which reduces the risk of tibial bone wear, but the retention of ligament is also prone to cause anterior-posterior displacement of the joint unstable; PS prosthesis surgery directly replaces the posterior cruciate ligament, which improves the anastomosis, and is able to improve the stability of the tibial plateau, but it is possible to cause tibial bone wear or dislocation.
Regardless of CR prosthesis surgery or PS prosthesis surgery, postoperative care should be done well and postoperative functional exercises should be carried out in time under the guidance of the doctor to avoid muscle atrophy of the lower limb, which will affect the recovery of the knee joint in the future.
