The difference between huang jing and yuzhu is that the efficacy, indications and contraindications are different, as follows.
1. Efficacy: Rhizoma Polygonati Odorati has the efficacy of nourishing yin and moistening the lungs (nourishing the lungs by replenishing the lung fluid), tonifying the spleen and enriching the qi, and nourishing the kidneys and filling up the essence; while Rhizoma Polygonati Odorati has the efficacy of nourishing yin and moistening the dryness, and generating fluids and quenching thirst (promoting the production of fluids to relieve thirst).
2. Indications: Rhizoma Polygonati Odorati (Huang Jing) is used for coughing due to yin deficiency and dryness of the lungs; deficiency of the spleen, lack of energy, low food intake and dryness of the mouth, and thirst; deficiency of the kidneys with lumbar and knee soreness and tenderness (feeling of soreness and tenderness of the lumbar and knee), tinnitus and darkness of the eyes and ears, premature whitening of the beard and hair, and weakness and thinness of the body. And yuzhu is suitable for dry and hot cough, fluid injury and thirst, yin deficiency and external infection and other diseases.
3. Contraindication: taking Huang Jing should pay attention to cold diarrhea, phlegm-dampness plumpness (stomach distension and discomfort) stagnation of the person prohibited from taking. The use of Yujiao should be noted that those with phlegm-dampness and stagnant Qi are prohibited from taking it, and those with spleen deficiency and loose stools should be cautious of taking it.
