Bleeding of 5ml in the brainstem may be life-threatening, but the mortality rate can be reduced if timely treatment is provided. The brainstem includes the bridge, midbrain and medulla oblongata, if the bleeding amount is about 5ml, it is considered as a large amount of hemorrhage, and according to the different lesions in the brainstem, it can show different clinical symptoms, and the mortality rate is higher, among which the midbrainstem hemorrhage has the fastest development of the death rate. Hemorrhage in the pontine brain can be characterized by rapid coma, pinpoint pupils, quadriplegia and brain ankylosis, etc. Hemorrhage in the midbrain can be characterized by deep coma, flaccid paralysis of the limbs, and then death, while hemorrhage in the medulla oblongata can be characterized by sudden impaired consciousness and disappearance of vital signs, which can lead to a rapid death. Therefore, once the diagnosis is confirmed, sedation, lowering of cranial pressure, prevention of further bleeding, and surgery should be provided immediately to reduce mortality. If brain stem hemorrhage is considered, it is recommended to go to a regular hospital immediately to avoid delay.
