What’s wrong with a penis that’s too short?

Too short penis is usually considered gonadotropin secretion abnormality, primary micropenis, hypospadias.
1. Abnormal gonadotropin secretion:
(1) Insufficient secretion of gonadotropins leads to low levels of testosterone secreted by the testes, which interferes with the normal development of the penis.
(2) Excessive secretion of gonadotropins, abnormal response of testes to gonadotropins, resulting in weakened secretion of testosterone. Decrease in testosterone can cause excessive secretion of gonadotropins through negative feedback mechanism.
2. Primary small penis: the etiology is still unclear, may be a transient decline in testosterone secretion and other reasons, but also a small number of patients may be due to androgen receptor abnormality caused by some of the patients to puberty penis can develop normally.
3. Hypospadias: Hypospadias is usually combined with penile dysplasia.
Short penis or hypospadias may also be caused by other factors, which should be intervened and treated in a timely manner so as not to miss the best time for intervention.
