Is there a high recurrence rate after teratoma removal

Teratomas generally do not have a high recurrence rate after removal.
Teratoma belongs to one of the more common tumors in the female genitalia, there are generally two forms, one is mature teratoma, the other is immature teratoma, clinically most of the mature teratoma.
Mature teratomas are benign tumors that generally do not recur after surgical debulking or surgical removal of one ovary. Immature teratomas are generally malignant tumors that are usually able to transform into benign tumors. The recurrence rate of immature teratomas is also low after removal through one side of the ovary.
When patients find ovarian teratoma, it is recommended to consult a doctor in time, complete the relevant examination, and choose the appropriate treatment plan according to the patient’s own condition and the size of teratoma.
