Treatment of Meniere’s disease

  Since the cause and pathogenesis of the disease are unknown, there is no single agent or therapy that can cure the disease. At present, most of the comprehensive treatment is based on regulating the function of the vegetative nerves, improving the microcirculation in the inner ear, and relieving the fluid in the vagus, including: 1. A low-fat, low-salt diet should be used. After the symptoms are relieved, it is advisable to gradually get out of bed and avoid long-term bed rest. The role of psychiatric treatment should not be ignored.  2.Medication (1)Vestibular nerve inhibitors: commonly used are Valium, theohydramine, diphenidol, etc.  (2) vasodilators: commonly used are cinnarizine, flunarizine (flunarizine) that is, ciprofloxacin. Petahistine (betahistine) that is, anti-dazzling and so on.  (3) Anticholinergic drugs: such as scopolamine (anisodamine) and scopolamine (scopolamine) (4) Diuretic dehydration drugs: commonly used are chlorthalidone (chlorthalidone), 70% isosorbide dinitrate (isosorbid), etc. Diuretic acid tachyphylaxis, etc. should not be used because of ototoxicity.  3.Surgical treatment Endolymphatic sac surgery, such as endolymphatic sac decompression, endolymphatic sac subarachnoid shunt, etc.; vestibular nerve dissection; bulbar nerve dissection; cervical sympathetic nerve dissection; transcallosal window decompression, such as balloon dissection, cochleococystostomy; vagotomy.
