A particularly yellow runny nose is usually common in the case of acute rhinitis or acute sinusitis attacks. Patients first need to go to the hospital for electronic rhinoscopy as well as sinus CT, both of which can make a clear diagnosis. Acute rhinitis as well as acute sinusitis are secondary to acute inflammatory infections, such as upper respiratory tract infections, and they are both associated with symptoms caused by bacterial or viral infections. Patients may present with bilateral nasal congestion, profuse yellow nasal discharge, muscle weakness, and fever. In case of sinusitis, there are also symptoms related to facial swelling and pain as well as headache. In terms of treatment, symptomatic anti-inflammatory treatment is needed, as most of them are Streptococcus haemolyticus or Staphylococcus aureus infections, so they can be treated with oral cefixime, amoxicillin or roxithromycin, azithromycin, and patients need to be treated with rhinitiscoma or Oronema. In case of sinusitis, sinus puncture and irrigation is also required, which will gradually heal in about a week.
