What does TLESR mean medically?

TLESR, medically known as transient lower esophageal sphincter relaxation, is a common clinical condition that is usually unrelated to swallowing, spontaneous complete sphincter relaxation with a rapid decrease in pressure within the lower sphincter, and is a specific form of movement of the lower esophageal sphincter. The lower esophageal sphincter is formed by a short thickening of the distal transverse esophageal muscle, and is located in the gastroesophageal junction area, forming a high-pressure zone together with the diaphragmatic angle, of which the pressure constituted by the lower esophageal sphincter accounts for 90%, and this high-pressure zone has a barrier effect against reflux of gastric contents into the esophagus.
