Cardiac Ultrasound Precautions

  If you need to go to the hospital and may have a cardiac ultrasound, please note the following: 1. Women should not wear dresses in summer. Because the ultrasound probe needs to be swept in front of the chest, you need to wear loose, comfortable, and easy to take off and put on clothes, such as shirts.  2, routine transthoracic cardiac ultrasound patients do not need to fast, except for other examinations that require fasting at the same time, transesophageal ultrasound requires fasting.  3, pediatric cardiac ultrasound requires sedation, if the patient is 1 year old to 3 years old, most cases need drug sedation, such as intramuscular injection of luminal, or oral chloral hydrate, etc., otherwise the child crying can not be examined.  4.There is no obvious discomfort during transthoracic cardiac ultrasound examination, but you may feel pressure on the chest due to the pressure of the probe.  5.Regular transthoracic cardiac ultrasound examination takes about 10 minutes, and it may take longer for difficult patients, so you need to be patient during the examination.  6.You can bring your previous ultrasound checklist with you when you visit us, we can help you to make a comparison.
