Nasal congestion may be caused by chronic rhinitis, colds, deviated nasal septum, enlarged inferior turbinate, nasopharyngeal carcinoma, etc., which need to be treated with medication or surgery for the cause. 1. Chronic rhinitis: poor nasal ventilation, exposure to allergens and other causes of repeated inflammatory lesions in the nasal cavity, chronic nasal congestion, accompanied by headache, tinnitus and other symptoms. Saline nasal spray, budesonide, fluticasone, loratadine, hydroxymetazoline and other treatments can be applied. 2. Colds: viral infections lead to acute inflammatory reactions in the upper respiratory tract, with oozing, bleeding and other lesions, and thus a blocked nose. Influenza can be treated with antiviral drugs such as ribavirin and oseltamivir. 3. Deviated nasal septum: The nasal septum develops abnormally and becomes deviated, resulting in blockage of one or both nasal passages. It can be treated by surgery. 4. Hypertrophy of inferior turbinate: Hypertrophy of inferior turbinate leads to nasal cavity occupation and nasal congestion. It can be treated by injecting sclerosing agent into the inferior turbinate, such as glucose injection with sodium chloride injection, sodium cod liver oil, etc. If necessary, part of the inferior turbinate can be surgically removed. 5. Nasopharyngeal cancer: malignant proliferation of nasopharyngeal tissues after cancerous transformation leads to nasal cavity occupation and nasal obstruction. It is mainly treated by radiation therapy. Nasal airlessness may be related to many factors, and it is recommended to consult doctor for clear diagnosis.
