The classification method of TCM physiology is based on the holistic concept as the guiding ideology, the theory of yin and yang and the five elements as the thinking method, and the theoretical basis of the theory of the Tibetan image and essence, blood, fluid and spirit. Ancient and modern medical practitioners have made different classifications of physique from different perspectives. The Nei Jing has proposed the classification of yin and yang content, the classification of the five elements, the classification of morphological and functional characteristics, the classification of psychological characteristics (including the classification of rigidity and flexibility, the classification of courage and timidity, and the classification of morphological bitterness and happiness), etc. Zhang Jiebin and others have used the classification of yin and yang in the Tibetan image, Ye Tiansh and others have used the classification of yin and yang attributes, and Zhang Xugu has used the classification of yin and yang deficiency and reality. However, due to different observation angles and classification methods, the types and nomenclature of physique classification are also different, including the four-point method, five-point method, six-point method, seven-point method, nine-point method, twelve-point method, etc. Under each classification, there are often different methods of classification, but the basis of their classification is the structure and function of the internal organs, meridians, and essence, blood and fluid. The basis of the classification is the difference in the structure and function of the internal organs, meridians, essence, blood and fluid. The ideal physique should be one that is harmonious with yin and yang. The Suwen – Anger Tongtian said: “Yin and Yang secret, the spirit is to cure.” The normal body type can be roughly divided into three types: yin and yang, yang and yin. 1, yin and yang and the placid quality of yin and Yang is a more harmonious body type. The physical characteristics are: strong body, fat and thin moderate; facial color and skin color, although there are five colors of bias, but are bright and subtle; gaze, cheerful personality, easy-going; moderate food, two stool regulation; tongue red, the pulse is slowly and evenly and God; night sleep and peace, full of energy, flexible reaction, quick thinking, work potential; self-regulation and external adaptability. People with such physical characteristics are less likely to feel external evil and rarely fall ill. Even if they are sick, they are mostly superficial and solid, and they are easy to cure and recover quickly, sometimes without medicine. If you take care of yourself, no violent trauma, chronic illnesses and bad habits, your physique is not easy to change and you can easily live a long life. 2, partial Yang quality The partial Yang quality refers to the body type with the characteristics of hyperactivity, partial heat, hyperactivity. Physique characteristics are: moderate or thin, but more solid; face more slightly red or slightly pale black, or oily skin; extroverted personality, dynamic and strong, easy to be impatient, poor self-control; greater food intake, digestion and absorption function is robust; stool easy to dry, urine easy to yellow red; usually afraid of heat, like cold, or slightly high body temperature, easy to move sweat, like to drink water; lips, tongue red, thin moss easy yellow, pulse more Yang; vigorous, action People with this physique are more susceptible to wind, heat and heat, and are more likely to suffer from heat and actual illnesses and to dry out and injure yin; they are prone to boils and sores on the skin; they are prone to fire, hyperactivity or yin deficiency in internal diseases; they are prone to dizziness, headaches, palpitations, insomnia and bleeding. Since people with this type of physique are hyperactive in yang energy and move more and less, they are bound to consume yin over time. If you do not take proper care of yourself, overworking, thinking, indulging in sex and alcohol, spicy food, you will accelerate the Yin injury and develop into the common clinical pathology of hyper-yang, Yin deficiency, phlegm and fire. 3, partial yin quality partial yin quality refers to the body type with the characteristics of inhibition, partial cold, more static. Physical characteristics are: moderate or fat, but weaker, easily fatigued. The face is white and less flamboyant; introverted, like quiet and less active, or timid and easily frightened; smaller food intake, digestion and absorption function in general; usually afraid of cold and like heat, or low body temperature; weak energy, slow movement, slow reaction, weak libido. People with this physique have a strong susceptibility to cold, damp and other yin evils, and are more prone to cold and deficiency evidence after the onset of the evil; the surface evidence is easily transmitted to the interior or directly to the internal organs; they are prone to frostbite in winter; they are prone to yin and yang deficiency evidence in internal injuries; they are prone to dampness, edema, phlegm, blood stasis and other evidence. Due to the weakness of Yang energy in this type of physique, long-term development will easily lead to the weakness of Yang energy, the decline of the function of the internal organs and the internal production of water and dampness, thus forming the common clinical pathological physique of Yang deficiency, phlegm and dampness, water and dampness. It should be noted that the terms Yin deficiency, Yang deficiency, Yang hyperactivity, as well as phlegm-dampness and blood stasis used in the classification of physique are different concepts from the names of symptoms used in the diagnosis and treatment. The symptoms are an analysis and generalization of the nature of a certain stage or type of disease, while the constitution reflects an individual specificity that already exists in a non-disease state. It is true that physique is the basis of disease, and many diseases, especially chronic diseases, have intrinsic prescriptiveness of the type of physique to the type of symptoms, when the name of the symptoms and the name of the original type of physique may be the same, which shows the close relationship between physique and symptoms.
