Can you eat freshwater fish for gout?

Freshwater fish is not recommended for gout patients. Usually, according to the amount of purine content per 100g of food, the food is divided into three categories: purine content of less than 50mg for low purine food, suitable for patients with hyperuricemia. Purine content between 50-150mg for medium purine food, gout acute attack patients are prohibited from eating, remission can be moderate consumption. Purine content greater than 150mg for high purine food, is hyperuricemia and gout patients prohibited food. Common freshwater fish are grass carp, its purine content is 140.3mg/100g, carp 137.1mg/100g, silver carp purine content of 202.4mg/100g, so the freshwater fish belongs to the middle and high purine food, do not recommend that the patient to eat more.
