Hui Yang Drink is from the Treatise on Typhoid Fever, which consists of ginseng, Radix et Rhizoma Polygoni Multiflori, Radix et Rhizoma Glycyrrhizae Praeparatae, Radix et Rhizoma Glycyrrhizae Praeparatae and Radix et Rhizoma Gingerae. In this formula, ginseng replenishes vital energy (replenishes the root of the body’s vital energy); Radix et Rhizoma Ginseng replenishes yang and saves the body from fainting, unconsciousness, etc. by warming and replenishing the yang energy; it replenishes fire and helps yang (replenishes the body’s yang energy), and expels the evils of wind, cold and dampness; Radix et Rhizoma Glycyrrhizae Sinensis is effective in nourishing yin and nourishing blood (replenishes the body’s blood), benefiting the qi and promoting the yang energy, restoring the pulse, fixing palpitation, etc; and Ginger is effective in driving out cold and warming the middle. Hui Yang Drink benefits qi, restores yang, and saves from dehydration, treating diarrhea like pouring, dangerous condition of yang qi wanting to be taken off, deficiency of yuanyang, evidence of coldness (fear of cold), cold limbs, and cold sweating like oil.
