The appendix is located in the right lower abdomen, the appendix surface projection about the umbilicus and the right anterior superior iliac spine in the line of the middle and outer 1/3 junction, known as the point of Mai’s point, Mai’s point is the choice of appendix surgical incision of the surface markers. In the abdominal cavity is located in the right iliac fossa, the appendix is about 5-10 cm in length and 0.5-0.7 cm in diameter, the appendix originates from the confluence of the three colonic bands at the root of the cecum, and the position of the appendix is clarified intraoperatively on the basis of the confluence of the colonic bands as the root of the appendix. The disadvantage of choosing the Mai’s point incision for the appendix is that if the appendix is heavy, the need to extend the incision is limited, and if the appendicitis is longer and the signs are heavier, the outer edge of the right rectus abdominis muscle can be chosen to make an incision into the abdomen for appendectomy.
