Blood pressure 133/91. Is that normal?

Blood pressure consists of systolic and diastolic blood pressure, with the normal range of systolic blood pressure being 90 to 139 mmHg and diastolic blood pressure being 60 to 89 mmHg. The patient’s blood pressure of 133/91 mmHg, with systolic blood pressure in the normal range, and diastolic blood pressure is on the high side.
If all three blood pressure values measured on a non-same day have a systolic blood pressure of 140 to 159 mmHg and/or a diastolic blood pressure of 90 to 99 mmHg, a diagnosis of mild hypertension can be made. According to the diagnostic criteria for hypertension, a blood pressure of 133/91 is considered mild hypertension after excluding transient high blood pressure measurements.
Patients with mild hypertension can try to control their blood pressure within the normal range by actively adjusting their lifestyle (e.g., reducing sodium and fat intake, increasing exercise, controlling body weight, etc.). If the blood pressure still cannot be reduced to normal by adjusting the lifestyle, calcium channel blockers (e.g., nifedipine) and beta-blockers (e.g., metoprolol) can be applied to lower the blood pressure as prescribed by the doctor.
In conclusion, patients with abnormal blood pressure are advised to seek timely medical treatment and standardized treatment under the guidance of a doctor to avoid delaying the condition.
