Appendicitis surgery generally does not affect height. Appendicitis is a common surgical condition that may develop when the appendix becomes inflamed due to obstruction of the lumen or bacterial invasion, etc. Early removal is generally recommended. There are some complications associated with appendicitis, but no studies have shown that appendicitis surgery affects height. Appendicitis may develop complications such as abdominal cysts, internal and external fistulas, and suppurative portal phlebitis during the course of the disease; and postoperative complications such as hemorrhage, infection, inflammation of the appendiceal stump, postoperative adhesive bowel obstruction, and fecal fistulas may occur, which are less common nowadays due to the advances in surgical techniques. Normal appendicitis surgery does not usually affect height. If your height is affected after surgery, please go to the hospital promptly.
