Does the ear belong to internal medicine or surgery?

Most diseases of the ear are part of otorhinolaryngology-head and neck surgery, and most of them lean toward surgical diseases. However, there is a separate division of otorhinolaryngology, so most ear diseases are still related to this division. Of course, otorhinolaryngology is divided into otolaryngology and otosurgery, and otosurgery favors surgical treatment, such as surgery for trauma to the outer ear and tumors in the ear, including middle ear mastoiditis, and so on. There is also a part of vertigo in the ear which belongs to the category of otology, such as inner ear vertigo, Meniere’s disease, sudden deafness and senile deafness, etc. All of them belong to otology.
