Can I take cephalosporin in the morning and drink at noon?

When you take cephalosporin antibiotics in the morning, you can’t drink alcohol at noon, not even alcohol-containing drugs and drinks, and you can’t take an alcohol bath when you have a fever. Cephalosporin antibiotics can inhibit acetaldehyde dehydrogenase, blocking the metabolism of ethanol, leading to a large accumulation of acetaldehyde in the body and causing an intoxication-like reaction, i.e. disulfiram-like reaction. Different cephalosporins have different metabolism times, but most cephalosporins can be completely metabolized within a week or so. It is recommended to avoid drinking alcohol, alcoholic drugs, beverages or food for a week before and after taking cephalosporin antibiotics, and it is not advisable to take alcohol baths when you have a fever. Therefore, when you take cephalosporin in the morning, you should not drink alcohol not only at noon, but also for the next few days, and it is better to wait for a week before you start drinking.
