There is no specific drug for macular edema. 2. 3. Diabetic retinopathy: macular edema is one of the complications of diabetic retinopathy, which is also a manifestation of aggravation of diabetic retinopathy. Patients can be treated with hormonal drugs such as intravitreal injection of triamcinolone acetonide and dexamethasone extended-release agent, which can promote the swelling to subside.
