Kawasaki disease itself, if cured, does not affect life expectancy and is the same as normal. In addition, Kawasaki disease itself is a self-limiting disease, most of them have a good prognosis, and relapse is seen in 1-2% of children. So Kawasaki disease is not that scary, but 15%-25% of children without effective treatment can develop coronary artery aneurysms, and if the aneurysms are very severe, they may be at risk at any time. That’s why this group of children should be followed closely over time and should be examined every 6-12 months. Most of them are not a problem, only a small percentage of children who have severe coronary aneurysms in combination are at risk.
