Itching and pain in the vagina is mostly associated with a combination of vaginitis and allergies to medications placed in the vagina. In case of trichomoniasis or bacterial vaginitis, the vulva and vagina should be washed with an acidic solution, and in case of mycosis fungoides, with an alkaline solution. In case of allergy due to medication placed in the vagina, the medication should be removed immediately and if necessary, the vulva and vagina should be washed with cleanser or gynecological lotion. During the treatment period, women should not eat cold and spicy foods, keep the vulva clean and refrain from sexual intercourse.
