Gypsum efficacy, effects and consumption

Gypsum is used to clear away heat and diarrhea, quench thirst and remove vexation, and is decocted in water.
Gypsum is pungent, sweet and cold in nature, and its attributed meridians are Yangming stomach meridian and Taiyin lung meridian. Gypsum is used for quenching thirst, removing vexation, diarrhea and clearing heat.
Gypsum can be used to quench thirst and fever, often with Zhimu, such as White Tiger Soup; also used for cough and lung fever, often with licorice, bitter almonds, ephedra and other herbs, such as hemp apricot and glycyrrhizic soup; can also be used for internal heat and thirst, toothache, headache, stomach fire, often with maitong, rhizoma dioica, Zhimu, and other herbs, such as the Jade Maiden Decoction.
Take about 15g to 60g of gypsum and decoct first.
Gypsum is not suitable for people with internal heat and yin deficiency or cold spleen and stomach. If you feel sick, you should go to a regular medical institution in time, and it is not recommended to take Chinese herbs on your own, so as not to damage your body.
