The esophageal examination is currently the more respected examination method in China is gastroscopy. For gastroscopy of the esophagus, a painless gastroscopy can also be performed for about 700 yuan, often with intravenous propofol, with the patient asleep and in a comfortable state. For some elderly patients and patients with cardiopulmonary insufficiency who cannot tolerate gastroscopy, barium meal examination of the upper gastrointestinal tract can be chosen, which can also detect some middle and advanced lesions of the esophagus, such as esophageal cancer or delayed esophageal cardia. For earlier esophageal cancer, gastroscopy still needs to be improved. For those who cannot be examined by barium meal, upper abdomen or chest CT examination can be given to indirectly determine some related diseases of the esophagus.
