Clinically, there is no such thing as which one has more adverse reactions, ordinary gastroscopy or enteroscopy, and different patients have different adverse reactions to both ordinary gastroscopy and enteroscopy. Patients need to be intubated when doing general gastroscopy, which will have some impact on the pharynx and esophagus, and after doing general gastroscopy, there will be an uncomfortable feeling in the esophagus, which is manifested as stomach distension, slight cramping pain, a little nausea and so on. Normally, this situation will be reduced or disappear in half a day’s time. When patients undergo general colonoscopy, the main reason is that during colonoscopy, gas is injected into the intestines and pulls the intestinal tubes, resulting in abdominal pain and perianal discomfort. Some patients have difficulty performing colonoscopy due to abdominal surgeries or bowel curvature during the procedure, which can lead to severe abdominal pain and intolerable discomfort. The above adverse effects of gastroscopy and colonoscopy are for some patients as well, and patients in good physical condition may not feel any discomfort symptoms. Therefore, there is no such thing as more or less adverse effects of general gastroscopy and colonoscopy, they vary from person to person.
