What are the questions about tinnitus?

Recently, there have been many inquiries about tinnitus. Here are some of the steps and methods I have used to diagnose and treat tinnitus, for reference only. Tinnitus is a worldwide problem with an unknown cause. In general, we should first go to a major hospital for an audiological examination to rule out tinnitus caused by special causes such as otosclerosis that can be treated surgically and to understand the hearing condition. If medication is not effective, the frequency, intensity, and maskability of the tinnitus can be checked, and then the need for sound therapy can be considered depending on the situation. As for the specific drugs used, each doctor’s experience is different, and the source of drugs varies from place to place, so the drugs used will be different, but they are definitely for improving blood supply and regulating nerve function. Tinnitus is related to mental tension. Therefore, it is more important to relax, pay attention to rest, and combine work and rest; you can consciously divert your attention when you feel tinnitus, and if you have hearing loss, you can try wearing hearing aids to regulate the nerve function by using the feedback effect of hearing improvement on tinnitus, which sometimes has unexpected benefits.
