Nourishing Kidney and Tong Ear Soup has the effect of nourishing the liver and kidneys, and is used to treat tinnitus and deafness caused by deficiency of the liver and kidneys (weakness of the liver and kidneys).
Huang Bai, Zhi Mu and Sheng Di tonify the liver and kidney, and are used together with Scutellariae to nourish yin and reduce fire (nourishing yin essence and lowering fire); Bai Shao and Angelica Sinensis nourish the yin and blood of the liver; Chuan Xiong, Chai Hu and Shiang Fu sort out the qi of the two meridians of the liver and kidney; and Angelica dahurica draws the herbs upward. Nourishing Kidney and Tonifying Ear Soup contains medicines that move qi and activate blood (promoting the movement of qi to enable blood circulation), and should be used with caution in pregnant women and those with menorrhagia. Its adverse effects are not clear. Tinnitus and deafness require systematic and comprehensive diagnosis and treatment, the effect of Zi Kidney Tong Ear Soup alone is limited.
